According to the most recent version of the Geneva Motor Show's official list of world premieres, the next generation of the Volkswagen Golf Variant will join the Cross Up and four more Golf debuts, the GTI, GTD, EcoFuel and BlueMotion.
Thanks to our spies, you won't have to wait until VW or some Eastern European website release the pictures to get a glimpse of the station wagon model that will likely continue to be marketed as the Golf Estate in the UK and Jetta Sportwagen in North Americ a.
The only piece of camouflage found on the car is at the back where VW's crafty engineers slapped on a set of fake decals to conceal the long, Jetta sedan-like tail lamps.
Visually, the Golf estate is as exciting as aâ¦Golf with an estate body, but the elongated MQB platform should get the work done in terms of practicality and boot space, which should easily exceed 500 liters.
Everything else, from the technological and comfort amenities, to the dashboard design and the range of available turbocharged diesel and petrol engines are sourced from the seventh generation Golf.
For the North American Jetta SporWagen, consumers will probably have to wait another year or so for production of the Golf series to begin at VW's Mexico plant.
