Callaway Cars Creates Rendering of a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette AeroWagon Concept

Have you ever wanted to see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in shooting brake form? Well then you’re in luck, as Callaway Cars has created a rendering of just that. Callaway Cars is no stranger to the Corvette, or General Motors products for that matter, and has modified countless Corvettes in years past. Most notably, Callaway Cars is known for its twin-turbo kits that later became a dealer option. There was also that little Corvette Sledgehammer model Callaway concocted, which was rated at 898 horsepower and 772 pound-feet of torque.

Like the Corvette Sledgehammer, Callaway is planning to make the AeroWagon body kit available to the public, so the image above can become a reality. Callaway will use carbon fiber to construct the shooting brake’s frame. The kit is expected to go for around $ 15,000 and will be available in Callaway dealerships across the country. Callaway estimates that, with the addition of this shooting brake conversion kit, the C7 Corvette Stingray will fly past 200 mph without batting an eyelash. The aftermarket company also believes that when the C7 is equipped with this kit, the Corvette will return the highest mileage rating of any new supercar on the road today.

If the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette AeroWagon Concept looks familiar, that’s because Ferrari offers a similar looking model, the FF, but that came straight from the factory. Rumor has it that the Callaway AeroWagon will have a rear hatch that opens and, because of the shooting brake design, this configuration would offer more cargo room than its coupe sibling. This AeroWagon design was conjured up by the hands of Paul Deutschman, who has created other Callaway vehicles in the past like the C7, C12, C16, SuperNatural and Speedster.

Callaway has already taken calls from customers asking for the AeroWagon body kit, but for the time being it’s only a rendering. The AeroWagon body kit isn’t the only tweak Callaway has in mind for the C7 Corvette though. Other upgrades include new wheels, a reconfigured suspension, different brakes, and engine performance tweaks. All of the aforementioned products could be available on all three forms of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

Automotive.com’s take: Leave the shooting brakes to the European manufacturers. While it does look… different, this could end up being a Mustang II-type creation.
