SRT Delivers new 392 Appearance Package for Charger SRT8

SRT Delivers new 392 Appearance Package for Charger SRT8

Few things in today’s automotive landscape are as predictable as a metronome: No automaker cranks out as many special editions as the Chrysler Group. Which means another year, another ZOMG!!!1 exterior package for an SRT whip.

This time, for this year and the next, it’s the “392 Appearance Package” for the Dodge Charger SRT8, the automaker’s solution to the responsible man’s midlife crisis (because it has four doors, see?).

So, what’s actually new on the Charger 392? Exclusivity, for one. There will only beâ€"you guessed itâ€"392 “392s.” That includes black exterior accents, 20-inch Black Vapor Chrome wheels, five color schemes, a new three-mode selectable tuning suspension, and standard launch control.

“With its numerous new exterior appointments beyond our exclusive Black Vapor Chrome wheels, not only will this new 392 Appearance Package set the Charger SRT8 apart even further, it also brings another level of exclusivity to our lineup as only 392 cars will receive this special treatment during the 2013 and 2014 model years,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO â€" SRT (Street and Racing Technology) Brand and Motorsports, in a statement.

Of course, the Charger 392?s SRT8 engine still features the glorious 470-hp Hemi V-8 and the trusty five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. In case you forgot, or didn’t know, that’s enough engine for supercar performance and 23 mpg highway.

The 392 Appearance Package will be available in April as a $ 2,495 option on standard SRT8-optioned cars.

Want one? Look for the black hood and roof, and exclusive 392 fender badges.
