Jeep to Show Off Trailhawk II, Wrangler “Slim” Concepts at 2013 Easter Jeep Safari

Jeep to Show Off Trailhawk II, Wrangler “Slim” Concepts at 2013 Easter Jeep Safari

For some, there’s one day a year you circle on the calendar months in advance while waiting in feverish anticipation. The annual Easter Jeep Safari, held in Moab, Utah is one of those days for the off-roading and 4×4 crew. This annual off-road festival, which runs for nine days and ends on Easter Sunday, has seen its fair share of Jeep concept vehicles in years past and this year will be no different. For the 2013 Easter Jeep Safari, Chrysler Group’s off-road specialist is showing off two concept vehicles; the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk II and the Wrangler “Slim.” These two concept vehicles are the first of six that will bow in Moab, and just like last year, we’re expecting some crazy stuff.

The first teaser image released is a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk doused in Header Orange paint. That’s about it. Jeep isn’t Trailhawk WK Teaser Moab teaser 300x187 imagetelling what this concept entails just yet, but strictly from the teaser image, we can see the 2014 Grand Cherokee’s redesigned exterior was used as a canvas. If this Trailhawk concept is like the one we saw in Moab last year, you can expect Quadra-Lift air suspension, the Selec-Terrain traction control system, and a few other off-road oriented goodies as well. If last year’s Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk concept was any indication, you can also expect tow hooks that can han dle twice the amount of the vehicle’s Gross Vehicle Weight and Quadra-Drive II system, which includes a rear electronic limited-slip differential. Of course, we’ll pass on all of the details once Jeep announces all of the official features on its latest Grand Cherokee Trailhawk concept.

Another Jeep concept to roll into Moab this year is the Wrangler “Slim” which features what appears to be a heavy-duty off-roading bumper and tires. Depending on your level of color-blindness, the Jeep Wrangler “Slim” concept may look light red or even pink in some cases. After a quick poll from our staff, we decided that the Wrangler “Slim” concept’s color is “Tough Barbie,” “Pepto-Bismol,” “reddish-pink/both,” or simply “pink.” This color, whichever you decide on, also runs around the outer lip of the wheels.

More information and concept vehicles slated to debut in Moab are on the way so stay tuned.

Which concept vehicle of the two would you choose? Hoping for anything crazy from Jeep this year? Tell us about it in the comment section below.
