Chrysler Unveils 2013.5 Chrysler 200S Special Edition with Carhartt Fortification

Chrysler and Carhartt will introduce the 2013.5 Chrysler 200S Special Edition at the 2013 New York Auto Show. This debut, along with the clothing line that was introduced in November, represents a new partnership between the two companies.

The Special Edition Chrysler 200S features a unique interior and exterior design, building on the success of the “S” package that was introduced in 2010, helping to make the sedan appear more sporty and aggressive. The model features traits from both Carhartt and Chrysler, exuding hard work, ingenuity, and perseverance. Or at least that’s what the two companies say.

“The 2013.5 Chrysler 200S Special Edition celebrates a never-say-die attitude and the value of hard work with a car unlike any other in the marketplace. The 200S Special Edition makes the statement that world-class quality and craftsmanship can be designed and developed in the Motor City, and embrace by consumers everywhere,” commented Saad Chehab, President and CEO of Chrysler Brand, in a statement.

Taking a closer look at the exterior, there’s a new gloss black mesh grille accented by a platinum chrome grille collar. The lower front bumper is now in platinum black, with platinum chrome fog lights surrounds, adding to the overall aggressive look to the sedan.

The interior was a collaborative effort between Chrysler and Carhartt, with black water-resistant fabric with signature Carhartt triple stitching seat accents in diesel gray. The accent stitching continues on the steering wheel, armrests, and center console. “Our design teams were able to work collaboratively to reflect the heritage of both brands, first with the ‘Imported From Detroit’ line of apparel and now with the Chrysler 200S Special Edition. The vehicle is understated in its levels of sophistication which authentically mirrors our brand,” said Mark Valade, Carhartt CEO in a statement.

The 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition will have a starting MSRP of $ 28,870 and will serve as a placeholder until the speculated much-improved and redesigned model bows at the end of this year for 2014.
