I would have to agree with you. I attended the drive event this past Tuesday, and the RLX was by far the superior car. I do wish that Acura had used leather in the base and navigation models instead of leatherette. That would have distanced it from BMW and Mercedes.
The BMW, Mercedes and Lexus all had more difficulty staying within the cones on the slalom when pushed hard than the RLX did. The Precision Rear Wheel Steer was remarkable.
I could never get used to the active cruise control on the Lexus. I thought the braking came on late and the car was forced to slow quickly. I could never wait for the warning note at 25 mph before hitting the brake pedal. The RLX quickly provided confidence during the test drive.
My opinion on the rear seating in the BMW and the Mercedes is that it is fine for someone under 5'8". At 6'3", I would not have wanted to take a long trip. The Lexus was only marginally better, and all 3 were difficult to enter or exit do to smaller rear door opening.
Steering wheel controls for radio, cruise, voice and blue tooth, are well placed and easy to use. The color touchscreen made using the a/c and radio a piece of cake, and the Acura Link 2 with a cloud base for information will be a fantistic option
