2013 Honda Fit EV Expands Market; Now Available on East Coast

After launching in California and Oregon in July 2012, the 2013 Honda Fit EV will be expanding to East Coast markets this month. Today, American Honda announced that the Fit EV will be available for lease options at select dealerships in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey. Lease terms are for three years at $ 389 per month.

“Expanding the availability of the ultra-efficient Fit EV to the East Coast is the next logical step in Honda’s strategic and customer-focused approach to growing the market for low-CO2, sustainable mobility technologies,” said Steve, Center, vice president of the American Honda Environmental Business Development Office.

The Honda Fit EV has a 20-kilowatt-hour Lithium-ion battery and 92-kilowatt electric motor. The Fit EV also has a driver-selectable three-mode drive system, making it a fun car to drive with a combined driving range of 82 miles. With an onboard charger, the Fit EV can be plugged into any 120-volt outlet or 240-volt AC power supply.

The battery can charge in under three hours from a low charge indicator illumination point. When connected to an outlet, charging can started and stopped with an interactive remote control, available smartphone application, or via the internet on a personal computer.

The 2013 Honda Fit EV is only offered through a three year lease program, with a lease price of $ 389 per month, based on a price of $ 36,625. To hear what Automotive.com has to say about our experience with the Honda Fit, check our our First Drive.
